Questions & Answers

Can I live in my garden room?
In essence, garden rooms aren’t meant to be lived in all year round – they’re usually on the smaller side and have one open space, even though some models also have a separate bathroom. Some of our bigger models can be great for temporary stays, as they have more separate spaces, bathrooms, and are designed having bigger needs in mind. If you’re curious about finding a primary residence, we recommend checking out our granny annexes.
-
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
It depends on a few aspects, including the purpose, the size, and the technical characteristics of your chosen model, but they’re really worth checking out to avoid additional steps with your purchase. If you’re wondering what size garden room without planning permission you could get, you can also refer to our Planning Permission page and see the list of requirements – do they align with what you have in mind?
-
What type of garden room construction can I choose from?

-
How and when will my garden room be delivered?
Your garden room will be delivered to the nearest kerbside of your address. As to the ‘when’, it depends on whether the garden room is in stock. If you chose to go for a bespoke project, the delivery may take longer as well. To find out specific delivery times, the costs, and how the process works in detail, visit our Delivery page.
-
How long will my garden room last?
All our garden rooms come with a warranty of either 5 or 10 years, depending on the size and wall thickness of the garden room. Your chosen model will serve you for years if it’s professionally assembled and properly maintained. The accessories are given a 2 year warranty. If you’d like to read up on the conditions that make the warranty applicable, including maintenance, take a look at our Warranty page.

Even a single meter matters when you are building yourself a compact garden room. Thus, we have developed several ranges featuring wooden garden buildings of various different measurements. 5m x 4m garden room collection features mid-sized models, offering open-plan layouts and lots of space to work, exercise or perform any hobby or activity of your choice.
All 5m x 4m garden rooms have several things in common: spaciousness, sturdy build, high versatility, and thermally enhanced insulated options available. The main characteristic feature differentiating them is the style (classical wooden structure or more contemporary one) and design of each model.
5m x 4m garden rooms for everyone‘s taste and preferences
The possibilities could seem endless once you start your prefabricated wooden building exploration journey. So many different models, technical characteristics, additional upgrades, and even the opportunity to create your own bespoke, completely unique 5m x 4m garden room solution. However, it is not so difficult once you have the right attitude and dedication to create a lovely space for yourself. As with all our buildings, we advise starting the search through our 5x4 garden room collection by narrowing it down to style selection first. Whether you are a classical style admirer or enjoy surrounding yourself with more modern solutions, it’s always a pleasure to offer numerous different options for both.
Classical style 5x4 garden rooms
Classical style lovers might find our traditional 5x4 garden rooms especially attractive – take a glance at DREUX, ESSEX, WISSOUS and MARTA, all exceptional in their own way. While DREUX is practically a staple of traditional design, WISSOUS and MARTA offer an expressive exterior with large windows and doors, letting all the natural sunlight in.
Modern look garden rooms 5x4 m
On the other hand, if contemporary is all you’re looking for, we have lots to offer as well. Our 5m x 4m garden room range is filled with extraordinary solutions: EMMY, TINA, TONIA, EVELIN. All these models have similar design characteristics: large windows and doors, ensuring well-lit internal space, and contemporary vertical cladding. Insulated 5m x 4m garden rooms for year-round use
Whether you are planning to use your 5m x 4m garden room as a place of work or leisure, you need reliable insulation solutions to stay comfortably in it all year round. The good news is that practically all our 5m x 4m garden rooms can be insulated throughout if you choose so (reliable insulation material is used for the roof, floors and in between the walls). Simply select an insulated version of your chosen 5x4m garden room and you will be able to enjoy your newly built structure during any season of the year.
Have in mind that we have two insulation options available – basic and advanced – which differ in insulation material thickness used. We advise choosing an advanced insulation version for remote workplaces or spaces where you will spend lots of time almost daily in, as it will provide you with residential-grade thermal comfort.
